Tivoli, ancient Tibur, is an Italian city located northeast of Rome. It was a Roman town of great beauty due to its rugged landscape, staggered forests and waterfalls, which gave it a cooler climate than Rome. The facades of this city were build with Travertino, a unique italian stone also known as “Stone of Tívoli”. Because of its beauty, it became a favorite summer resort in the days of the Roman Empire. Many Roman characters had their villas in it.
